Parks Make Life Better!
 |
Did you know that Parks Make Life Better? According to a recent study by the California Park and Recreation Society, Californians believe that parks are vital to their everyday lives. The study showed that parks inspire people to value “serenity and inspiration of nature; outdoor space to play and exercise; facilities for self-directed and organized recreation; positive alternatives for youth to lower crime and mischief; and activities that facilitate social connections, human development, therapy, the arts and lifelong learning.”
The City of Fontana’s Parks provide space for a wide variety of activities. The City operates and maintains 35 spacious, well-kept parks.

Some of the amenities provided include: sports complexes that provide
lighted football, soccer and baseball fields; covered roller hockey
rinks; tennis courts; exercise equipment; a dog park; nature exhibits
and studies; open spaces; picnic shelters with tables and barbeques, and
kid friendly playgrounds. The City also operates four aquatic
facilities. One of these is a state-of-the-art facility located at
Fontana Park. This facility includes a competition size pool, a zero
depth splash play area, two large water slides and an instructional
pool. Several miles of walking, jogging and bike paths are also located
in the City.
Parks provide aesthetically-pleasing and family-friendly
environments. Going to a park is a great way to make friends and connect
with other Fontana residents or relieve stress and bundled up energy.
Additionally, parks offer opportunities to participate in City facilitated
activities or programs such as sports. The City of Fontana knows that
parks make life better for residents so head to your nearest park and
start living a better life today!
